Cancel or change your plan.

Spense subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancelling happens on their page — Spense takes you straight there and then shows you exactly when your access ends. Leaving shouldn't be harder than joining, and taking your numbers with you shouldn't be an afterthought.

There's nothing to cancel. The trial never took a card, so when it ends nothing is charged — see how much trial you have left for what day 15 looks like. If you want your data gone too, skip to Leaving for good at the bottom of this guide.
1

Open the Subscription card on the More tab

On the More tab, the Subscription card shows your status and your next billing date. Tap Cancel Subscription (“Stops renewal at period end”). Spense confirms the date your access runs to — tap Schedule Cancellation, or Keep Subscription to back out. Scheduling opens Apple's or Google's subscription page, because the store that bills you is where the subscription is cancelled.

One card, one button. Spense doesn't cancel anything itself — it hands you to the store, which does.

Finish on Apple’s or Google’s page

Pick Spense from the list and tap Cancel Subscription on an iPhone, or Cancel subscription in Google Play, then confirm. Nothing is cancelled until you confirm there — backing out of the store page leaves your plan exactly as it was. Prefer to skip Spense entirely? The same page lives at Settings → your name → Subscriptions on an iPhone, and at Google Play → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions on Android.

Reactivate Subscription

Cancelled means “won't renew”. You keep what you paid for, banks keep syncing until the date shown, and Reactivate Subscription takes you back to the store to undo it.
🐟 Switching monthly ↔ yearly
Cancel the plan you're on and let it run to its end date. When it lapses, Spense shows its plans screen the next time you open the app — pick the other plan there and carry on with everything where you left it. And deleting the app from your phone doesn't cancel a subscription on either store — only the store page does.

Export anything you want to keep

Do this before your access ends — after that, Spense opens on the plans screen instead of your reports. On the Reflect tab, move to the month you want and tap Export CSV (or the Export … as CSV button at the bottom of the month). Choose a file, and your phone's share sheet opens so you can save it to Files, email it, or drop it in a spreadsheet app.

Three files per month. They're monthly reports, not a line-by-line copy of every transaction — export each month you want to keep.
🐟 What's in each file
All Transactions totals the month by category — spending, income and transfers — and lists your recurring charges. Spending Summary puts each category's target next to what you actually spent. Income Summary lists the month's income. All three are plain CSV, so any spreadsheet opens them.
✅
Cancelled — and nothing lost.
Your access and bank syncing run to the date on the card. After that, your budget and history stay in your account: subscribe again from the plans screen and you pick up where you left off. Linked banks are disconnected when the subscription expires, so coming back means reconnecting them.

Leaving for good

To erase everything, tap Delete Account & Data at the bottom of the More tab and type DELETE to confirm. It permanently removes your budgets, transactions and bank connections, and it can't be undone — even if you were using Spense as a guest. One thing it can't do is stop an App Store or Google Play subscription, so cancel first (step 2), then delete. If your trial or plan has already ended, the same option sits at the foot of the plans screen as Delete my account & data.
